Al di là di tutto...una persona

Al di là del torrente che scorre impetuoso nelle nostre menti distruggendo quanto di fraterno ed umano ha il nostro essere. Che inonda i nostri neuroni affogandoli nell'odio e nel manicheismo, inzuppandoli di finto senso di appartenenza a qualcosa che non esiste se non fittiziamente. Che straborda turando le nostre orecchie al buonsenso ed alla ragione e le riempie di parole che non sanno di gentilezza, per non parlare d'amore. Che scende di botto, uscendo all'improvviso, forse evaporando, e ci lascia il vuoto, in ogni fibra. Ma basta poco e ne riparte un altro, di torrente, e ci riporta in una vita che è forse quella più semplice, ma certamente è anche la più triste, la più crudele, la più insensata delle vite possibili. Una vita da arrabbiati, con la spada in una mano e nell'altra una torcia per dar fuoco agli orchi. Allora forse lo specchio non lo abbiamo mai guardato con attenzione. Allora forse converrebbe smettere di mantenere veli insquarciabili, scudi invisibili che ci proteggono dalla vita. Allora forse riusciremmo a vedere, al di là di tutto...una persona.

Quando l'aggettivo magnifico non esprime ancora a pieno quando visto quella sera, allora c'è da chidersi se esista un aggettivo capace di farlo. Non credo. Ma non sono uno studioso degli aggettivi. Ad ogni concerto Elton fa il miracolo. E dei suoi cocerti sono abbastanza esperto. Quella sera a Milano non si è smentito, anzi, ci ha deliziato, incantato, fatto commuovere e saltare. Ci ha portati avanti e indietro, indietro e avanti. Chiudevo gli occhi e godevo delle dita agili sul pianoforte, li aprivo e ridevo per le esibizioni di Cooper, un vero forsennato. Un concerto, di più, diviso in due. Solo piano, piano e percussioni. Tre ore di puro godimento a ritmo alternato e con botti finali. Una Crazy Water mai suonata!!! Controlibidine coi fiocchi! Non ho più un orecchio, ma ne è valsa la pena.

Bella la fascia rosa per capelli

Una marea, un'orda assatanata di benessere. Una cascata di corpi alla ricerca di una forma. Una Porsche Panamera. Alla fermata del bus, senza bisogno di prenderlo. Quasi una sfida all'incredibile forza di soggezione che emana lo sguardo di un labrador nero. le urla dello sforzo, il sudore che ti attacca addosso i vestiti fradici. Arrivano lenti, anche gli ultimi della fila. Una come se stesse in punta di piedi portando due borse in modo fashion. Un insulto all'altletismo professionistico. Ma bella la fascia rosa per capelli. E si torna a viaggiare. Intanto mi sono fatto un bagno negli scarichi delle auto in attesa. E la corsa procede. Ma sono partiti dopo? La lentezza non ha prezzo, ma dà molto fastidio. Questo avrebbe fatto meglio fosse rimastio a casa, davanti al caminetto a sorseggiare brandy invecchiato. Meno riski per la salute. Ad ogni modo un cane bianco e peloso se ne sta accoccolato sotto un cartellone pubblicitario. E mi guarda. Molto coccoloso. Certo che le strade di Torino sono veramente sporche. Il traffico sembra rivitalizzarsi. Gente improbabile raccoglie coni arancioni. Il cane se ne va. La messa dovrebbe cominciare alla 10.30. Vabbè. Faccio inglese.

Ebola cousin found in fruit bats in Uganda - study

WASHINGTON, July 31 (Reuters) - Thousands of bats in a cave in Uganda are infected with Marburg virus, a cousin of the Ebola virus, researchers said on Friday, strengthening the theory the mammals are natural carriers of the deadly viruses. A study by Pierre Rollin and colleagues at the Special Pathogens Branch at the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention found live virus in 5 percent of the bats tested in the cave, where miners were infected with Marburg in 2007. "Our finding of active virus infection in approximately 5 percent of R. aegyptiacus bats and their population exceeding 100,000 in Kitaka cave in Uganda suggests there are likely over 5,000 Marburg virus-infected bats in this cave, which is only one of many such cave populations throughout Africa," they wrote in their report in the Public Library of Science journal PLoS Pathogens. "Clearly, these bats could serve as a major source of virus with potential to initiate human epidemics, and the implications for public health are striking." Researchers have long suspected bats were the natural reservoirs of Ebola and Marburg -- both lethal viruses in the same family. Ebola can kill between 50 percent and 90 percent of patients, while Marburg is a bit less deadly. A natural reservoir is an animal that carries and transmits an infection without becoming ill. Rollin's team sampled the blood of bats in the giant cave, where one miner died from Marburg in 2007. The virus samples from the sick miners and from the bats were close genetic matches, they reported. "These data indicate common Egyptian fruit bats can represent a major natural reservoir and source of Marburg virus with potential for spillover into humans," they wrote. (Editing by Paul Simao)

Concerto d'Amore del migliore Baglioni di sempre. Partenza concettuale sulla scia rivista dell'album "Questo piccolo grande amore". Un po' sull'onda del libro e del film, scorrono immagini sul megaschermo mentre sul palco vola musica, anche sconosciuta al grande pubblico. Si ingannano così le prime due ore, in un piacevole intimismo riflessivo. Poi si prosegue sulla scia degli amori con i successi più noti ed il pubblico accoglie la svolta con un caldo abbraccio all'artista. Tutti sotto il palco a cantare e battere le mani per l'ultima ora della performance. Niente da dire, grandi classici riportati sul palco nella loro interezza dopo forse un decennio. Tantissima roba.
Una notte magica alla Reggia di Venaria. Una notte di pioggia e di fango. La migliore notte di pioggia e di fango che si sia mai vista da quelle parti.

Un 25 aprile all'insegna della Resistenza... all'alcool. Questa la triste fine di un mito antifascista o la riscoperta del reale valore di un pezzo di storia? I nemici sono stati annegati in un fiume di Barbaresco o si sono allontanati pacificamente mentre gruppi di persone vestite male si ubriacavano nei boschi? La verità storica è solo oramai un bel raccontare, ma il presente ci lascia piuttosto perplessi sul futuro, se sciami di giovanotti si aggirano alticci a qualsiasi ora del giorno per festeggiare la robustezza del proprio fegato. O è forse così che vorrebbero essere ricordati, gli eroi ed i macellai che tanto sforzo hanno profuso per un'Europa più fraterna e civile? The purpose of the program set up by the Pentagon, called the "Human Hibernation Project," is designed so that the military can save their best men for when they're needed most. According to the officers heading the project, too many times the talents and expensive training of the best pilots and soldiers go to waste during times of peace. So they enlist Bauers (Wilson), the most under-achieving average guy they've got, to be the test subject for the initial hibernation experiment. Also participating in the top-secret program is Rita (Rudolph), a prostitute who agreed to take part in exchange for dropping some criminal charges against her, among other things. Of course, the experiment, which was to last only a year, goes under due to the arrest of Officer Collins, who is busted for heading a prostitution ring. Seeing as though he was in charge of the experiment, one of the only ones who knew of its existence, and "due to a lot of top-secret red tape... and the massive scandals and base closure that followed, Joe and Rita were forgotten about.

Joe Bauers, an Army librarian, is judged to be absolutely average in every regard, has no relatives, has no future, so he's chosen to be one of the two test subjects in a top-secret hibernation program. He and hooker Rita were to awaken in one year, but things go wrong and they wake up instead in 2505. By this time, stupid people have outbred intelligent people; the world is (barely) run by morons--and Joe and Rita are the smartest people in America.
